Sawalkote, Jan 26 (KNO): Amid patriotic songs and tricolour dyed surroundings, the Sawalkote Hydroelectric Project celebrated India’s 77th Republic Day with immense zeal and fervour. Taking place at the sprawling Project Headquarters in Tanger village of district Ramban, the morning ceremony witnessed the national flag being unfurled by the Head of Project (HOP), Dinabandhu Boral followed by the national anthem. The event was attended by project employees, workers, security personnel and local dignitaries including sarpanch and several others.
Addressing the gathering, D. Boral offered his heartfelt wishes to everyone on the occasion of 77th Republic Day while highlighting the foundation of Indian constitution laid in 1950 on the ethos of democratic republic, which today has made the country world’s largest democracy. Boral spotlighted India’s significant economic growth in various sectors, ranging from economy, science, education to advanced technology and artificial intelligence, ultimately paving the way for country’s soaring GDP levels towards the goal of Viksit Bharat 2047.
Calling NHPC a top-leader in the country’s hydropower generation, the Head of the Project reflected on institution’s increasing hydropower capacity, going beyond 8000MW’s with the inception of ambitious wind and solar energy projects. “We’re taking utmost care of the environment and ensuring sustainable future by harnessing energy from renewable sources,” D Boral said.
He expressed optimism over kick starting the construction of the Sawalkote Hydroelectric Project (1856MW) from this year. “This will be a watershed development and will give a major boost to our country and NHPC,” D Boral added.
He highlighted the success of NHPC in spearheading major projects, especially the 2000MW Subhansiri Lower Project, the 2880MW Dibang Multipurpose Project and now the upcoming 1856MW Sawalkote Hydroelectric Project. “These projects are a game-changer for India and its hydropower prospects,” D Boral noted.
The HOP reflected on NHPC’s stellar CSR initiatives, including world-class healthcare and education initiatives among several others, to transform and uplift thousands and lakhs of lives in the country. He noted that NHPC’s is riding with full force towards achieving its goal of 50GW energy capacity by 2047.
Towards the end, Shri D Boral expressed his deep gratitude to all the project employees for their dedication and service towards NHPC and the Sawalkote Hydroelectric Project. Urging them to continue working with same fervour, HOP called on the employees to make their strenuous efforts towards making the project a big success while seeking cooperation and support of locals in the project. He reinforced the constitutional values and called for the honesty and commitment towards making the country great on the Republic Day’s eve—(KNO)
